Responsible behaviour plan

Gaven State School is committed to provisions that ensure all of our students receive a quality education. Our purpose is 'To make a positive difference for each and every child, each and every day. 'We believe that in order to realise our vision we need to create an environment that is safe, supportive, disciplined and which respects and values;

  • the rights of all students to learn
  • the rights of teachers to teach
  • the rights of all to be safe

Our responsible-behaviour-plan-january-2017.pdf clearly defines the responsibilities of members of our school community, that is, the students, parents/carers, staff and the school principal in upholding the standards of behaviour expected. clearly defines the responsibilities of members of our school community, that is, the students, parents/carers, staff and the school principal in upholding the standards of behaviour expected.

The plan is premised on the notion of 'You own your own behaviour' (YOYOB). This notion is linked to 'Choice Theory', where students own or choose their behaviours and take responsibility for the consequences whether they are positive or negative.
