Research indicates that Explicit Instruction (or Direct Teaching) is a highly effective teaching strategy, particularly when students need to acquire new knowledge or skills. At Gaven State School we use explicit instruction as the model through which all new content is taught.

Culmination activities
Culminating activities occur in all year levels at the end of units of work. Parents are encouraged to visit the school to share the learning and achievements of students during this time, providing an ideal opportunity to see the quality teaching and learning programs offered at Gaven State School.
