At Gaven State School we cater for students who have a diverse range of educational support needs. Our school based and visiting staff meet regularly to review individual students. Consideration of achievement, development, social and emotional needs inform recommendations to assist the student to achieve their goals.
The Support Teacher – Literacy and Numeracy and class teachers work together to plan and implement programs to assist students. Our programs aim to support students in their regular class environment wherever possible however, some support programs may be offered in alternative settings. Opportunities to enhance student independence and build self esteem are also incorporated into programs ensuring all students have the opportunity to work and achieve in a supportive and inclusive environment.
